Although the Detroit Lions traded up to select CB Terrion Arnold in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft and followed that by picking CB Ennis Rakestraw Jr. in Round 2, Brad Holmes has shown that he’s not afraid to choose the best available player when his team is on the clock.
While it’s unlikely the Lions will draft a cornerback with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, there is one player they could consider. The issue, however, lies in his injury history.
Revel was highly productive at East Carolina and possesses the ability to play man-to-man coverage, a trait the Lions highly value. Unfortunately, he only appeared in three games during his final college season due to a torn ACL. It will be intriguing to see how he performs at the NFL Scouting Combine. Could the Lions take a chance on Shavon Revel Jr. with the No. 28 pick in 2025? It’s possible with Brad Holmes at the helm. However, I don’t believe it will happen. Instead, I expect the Lions to work on re-signing Carlton Davis III and pairing him with Terrion Arnold and a healthy Ennis Rakestraw.
