Detroit Lions wide receiver Allen Robinson is currently weighing his options.
After completing his 11th NFL season, the 31-year-old is contemplating retirement to dedicate more time to his media pursuits.
Robinson was selected in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars following his college career at Penn State.
“For me, it’s about taking time to assess what next year holds for me,” Robinson said, according to the Free Press. “That’s where I am right now. So I’m giving myself time to make this decision with my family.”
The Detroit native has worked with SiriusXM and is thinking about focusing more on a variety of media ventures, including possibly starting his own podcast.
Robinson reflected on playing for several accomplished offensive minds in recent years but is positioning himself for success after his football career.
“I’ve gained so much football knowledge and life experience that it’s truly been a blessing to have experiences I don’t think anything else could’ve provided, seeing the world the way I have,” he said. “It’s been an incredible experience.”
In 2024, Robinson had three receptions for 30 yards in 12 games.
“I wanted to look back and have no regrets,” Robinson stated. “And that’s where I am now—I have none. I’ve given everything I had to this game.”
Robinson also had stints with the Jaguars, Bears, Rams, Steelers, and N.Y. Giants.
