On Monday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Philadelphia Eagles are releasing six-time Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay and designating him as a post-June 1 cap casualty to save additional money on their 2025 payroll.

NBC Sports’ John Clark reports that it’s “always possible” Slay could return to the Eagles at a reduced salary, but the 34-year-old former All-Pro has also recently shown interest in returning to the Lions for what is expected to be his final season.

Slay departed Detroit after the 2019 season following tensions with head coach Matt Patricia, but now that Patricia is no longer with the Lions, Slay might consider rejoining the team that drafted him 36th overall in the 2013 NFL Draft.
