After years of dedication, stage dominance, and seamless integration into one of heavy metal’s most iconic lineups, Andy Sneap has officially been named a full-time member of Judas Priest. The announcement comes after more than six years of touring with the band and solidifying his place in the hearts of fans worldwide.

Sneap, originally brought on in 2018 as a live guitarist to support the band following Glenn Tipton’s retirement from touring due to Parkinson’s disease, has steadily evolved from “touring replacement” to indispensable bandmate. At first, Sneap focused primarily on rhythm guitar, complementing Richie Faulkner’s fiery leads and maintaining the band’s dual-guitar legacy.

But beginning in 2019, fans noticed a shift — Sneap began taking on more technical solos, intricate harmonies, and even co-arranging live versions of classic tracks like “Painkiller” and “Hell Bent for Leather”. His chemistry with the rest of the band, both musically and personally, has been undeniable.

By the 2022 tour, Sneap had not only proven he could replicate Tipton’s iconic parts, but he brought his own energy and precision to the role. His contributions were key to maintaining the Judas Priest sound on stage while helping push the band forward into its next era.
