A Fan’s Ultimate Treasure: Signed Black Sabbath Guitar Becomes Cherished Possession

For many music fans, memorabilia is more than just a collectible—it’s a piece of history. But for lifelong heavy metal enthusiast Jordan Clarke, it’s something even more personal. Clarke is the proud owner of a guitar signed by the original members of Black Sabbath—Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and the late Bill Ward—and he calls it his “most prized possession.”

The guitar, a classic black Gibson SG replica, is covered in bold silver signatures from the founding fathers of heavy metal. According to Clarke, it’s been safely stored away for years, only coming out for special occasions or to show fellow fans. “It’s not just an instrument. It’s a symbol of what their music meant to me growing up,” he said.

Adding to its value is a letter of authenticity, which Clarke admits is “somewhere in a safe or drawer.” While he hasn’t had the guitar formally appraised, he believes it’s worth a significant sum—especially following the band’s emotional farewell performance during the “Back to the Beginning” concert earlier this month.

Black Sabbath, widely credited with pioneering the heavy metal genre, has left an indelible mark on music history. Items signed by all original members are increasingly rare, especially now that live appearances by Ozzy and Iommi are few and far between.

“Some people collect vinyl. Others get tattoos. For me, this guitar is my connection to a band that shaped my life,” Clarke said.

As for selling it? “Never,” he laughs. “You can’t put a price on something that’s part of your soul.”

With Sabbath’s legacy continuing to influence new generations, Clarke’s guitar stands as a powerful reminder of the band that started it all—and the fans who never stopped believing.
