At least one Eagles assistant is set to join Kellen Moore in New Orleans, and he likely won’t be the only one.
According to Saints reporter Nick Underhill, the team is hiring Eagles run game specialist and assistant offensive line coach T.J. Paganetti. However, his exact role with the Saints has not been specified.
Underhill also noted that Eagles quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier remains the frontrunner for New Orleans’ offensive coordinator position.
The Saints have also interviewed Eagles running backs coach Jemal Singleton for their offensive coordinator position and defensive backs coach Christian Parker for the defensive coordinator role. While Nick Sirianni hopes to retain his staff, Kellen Moore is clearly targeting several Eagles position coaches.
With Paganetti’s departure, Jeff Stoutland remains the last coach from the Eagles’ Super Bowl LII victory. Stoutland and Aaron Moorehead are now the only holdovers from Doug Pederson’s staff.
Paganetti originally joined the Eagles in 2013, following Chip Kelly from Oregon, and worked as an analyst from 2013-14. After a brief return to Oregon in 2015-16, he came back to Philadelphia in 2017, taking on various roles under Kelly, Pederson, and Sirianni.
