According to Jeremiah, the Lions have a roster that’s ready to win right now, and Garrett could be the finishing piece to bring a championship to Detroit. He emphasized that if he were Lions general manager Brad Holmes, he would be willing to be pretty aggressive in pursuing Garrett, knowing that it could bring a parade to the city
The potential trade would likely require the Lions to give up significant draft capital, possibly including their 2025 first-round pick (No. 28), 2025 third-round pick (No. 101), 2026 first-round pick, and 2026 third-round pick, as well as defensive tackle Brodric Martin ². In return, the Lions would receive Garrett, a fifth-round pick (No. 165) in 2025, and Cleveland’s second-round pick in 2026.
Jeremiah’s comments come after Garrett officially requested a trade from the Browns, citing the team’s bleak future. While the Browns have refused to budge, Jeremiah believes that Detroit could be a natural fit for Garrett, given their need for a dominant edge rusher and their recent history of competitiveness
