The Detroit Lions have been busy rebuilding their roster in recent years, and it appears they’re not done yet. In a recent 2025 NFL mock draft, the Lions are projected to select another talented player from the University of Alabama.

This time, it’s defensive lineman Dallas Turner, a 6’4″, 245-pound pass-rushing specialist who is expected to be a top-10 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Turner is a dominant force off the edge, with a combination of speed, strength, and agility that makes him nearly unblockable.

The Lions have a history of drafting talented players from Alabama, including quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s former teammate, wide receiver Jameson Williams. Williams was selected by the Lions in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft and has quickly become one of the team’s top playmakers.

If the Lions were to select Turner in the 2025 NFL Draft, it would be a major coup for the team’s defense. Turner’s presence would give the Lions a formidable pass-rushing duo, alongside Aidan Hutchinson, who was selected by the team in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

The Lions’ defense has been a work in progress in recent years, but with the addition of Turner, the team would have a legitimate chance to become one of the top defensive units in the NFL.

Of course, this is just one mock draft, and the actual 2025 NFL Draft is still months away. But if the Lions were to select Turner, it would be a major statement of intent from the team’s front office.

The Lions are clearly committed to building a winning roster, and they’re not afraid to think big. With Turner on board, the team would have a talented young core that could compete with anyone in the NFL.

As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, Lions fans will be eagerly watching to see if the team will select Turner or another talented player. One thing is certain, however: the Lions are on the rise, and they’re not going to stop until they’ve built a championship-winning roster.
