As of June 18, 2025, there is credible information or official announcement regarding Judas Priest’s sudden retirement from music at the age of 56. In fact, the band has been actively engaged in their musical endeavors.

Judas Priest released their 19th studio album, Invincible Shield, in March 2024, which debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart and topped the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums chart in the U.S. The band has been actively touring in support of this album, including a European tour scheduled for the summer of 2025. Additionally, they have announced a co-headlining North American tour with Alice Cooper later in the year.

Band members, including frontman Rob Halford and guitarist Richie Faulkner, have expressed enthusiasm about continuing to create and perform music. Halford stated that as long as the band can “still deliver the goods,” there’s no reason to retire. Faulkner mentioned that the band is always coming up with new ideas and hopes to begin work on their next album in 2026.

Therefore, any claims about Judas Priest’s sudden retirement at the age of 56 are unfounded and not supported by current information.
