In Week 1 of the 2025 season, the Detroit Lions head to Lambeau Field to face the Green Bay Packers. The match is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. on Sunday, September 7.
Although Detroit returns a lot of skill from a team that achieved 15 victories last season, they are seen as the underdogs in the Week 1 game against their divisional opponent.
At present, the Lions are 1.5-point favorites as per Draft Kings.
FanDuel Sportsbook reports that the Lions are favored by 1.5 points against the Packers.
Detroit formally discovered its lineup for the 2025 season on Wednesday. The schedule includes five primetime matches and two extra standalone games throughout the season, featuring games on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The Lions will welcome Green Bay for the rematch of the divisional home-and-home series on Thanksgiving. In their histories, these two teams have faced each other 191 times, with Green Bay leading 106-78-7.
Recently, though, the situation has shifted in favor of the Lions, who have secured victory in six of their last eight encounters since Dan Campbell became head coach in 2021.
This season, the Lions are set to compete in eight home games and nine away games. Their initial home game will be in Week 2 against the Chicago Bears, led by former offensive coordinator Ben Johnson.
Primetime rivals consist of the Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football, the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football, and the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday Night Football.
