Patrick Mahomes Sr., father of Kansas City Chiefs’ standout quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has been granted court permission to travel from Texas to Las Vegas for his son’s prominent charity golf tournament.
The authorization, provided under the terms of his probation, permits Mahomes Sr. to assist the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, a nonprofit organization run by his son focused on enhancing children’s lives through health, wellness, and educational initiatives.
The elder Mahomes needed to obtain formal consent because of his current legal issues arising from a felony DWI conviction earlier in 2024. In that instance, Mahomes Sr. admitted guilt to his third driving under the influence offense and received a five-year term of supervised probation.
His plea agreement also mandated he serve 10 days in jail and featured a suspension of his driver’s license for one year.
As a condition of his probation, Mahomes Sr. is required to seek approval for any travel beyond the state. As per court records, he filed the request at the beginning of this month, and it received formal approval on May 7.
The authorized travel dates are from Wednesday to Sunday, in accordance with the timing of the charity golf tournament, set to occur at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas.
