The Pittsburgh Steelers traded wide receiver George Pickens along with a 6th-round pick in 2027 in exchange for a 3rd-round pick in 2026 and a 5th-round pick in 2027.

The trade irritates fans for various reasons, notably the ambiguity it introduces for the quarterback next season, expected to be either Mason Rudolph, Aaron Rodgers, or ex-Kansas State’s Will Howard.
Nonetheless, ESPN analyst and Steelers advocate Ryan Clark indicated that Rodgers is virtually eliminated from the discussion for the quarterback position.
“If I were Aaron Rodgers, I wouldn’t go to Pittsburgh,” Clark stated on Get Up! Wednesday morning. “What is the significance of that?” What makes Pittsburgh appealing at this moment?
Rodgers has shown reluctance to join Pittsburgh, but this trade could push the four-time MVP even further away. Pittsburgh still possesses star receiver D.K. Metcalf, but lacks a reliable No. 2 to support him.
“You had all these elements to be thrilled about, but the two most thrilling elements were the two giant figures on the outside,” Clark stated. “However, you no longer possess that.” Thus, if I were Aaron Rodgers, aware that his abilities are declining and that his time is nearing its conclusion. Why would I choose to go to a location that apparently isn’t assembling a team to contend for a championship? Simply for fun? Aaron Rodgers accomplished that last year.
