The Oklahoma City Thunder have advanced to the Western Conference semifinals after completing a 4-0 sweep of the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. In Game 4, held on April 26, 2025, the Thunder secured a narrow 117-115 victory, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leading the charge by scoring 38 points.
Despite a challenging shooting night from beyond the arc, where the Thunder went 7-for-35 on three-pointers, they capitalized on the Grizzlies’ 21 turnovers to maintain their edge. Jalen Williams contributed significantly with 23 points, while Isaiah Hartenstein added a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds, along with 4 steals.
On the Grizzlies’ side, Scottie Pippen Jr. delivered an impressive performance, tallying 30 points and 11 rebounds. Santi Aldama also stood out, scoring 23 points and grabbing 9 rebounds, marking his best playoff performance to date. However, the absence of Ja Morant due to injury was a significant setback for Memphis, and despite their efforts, they couldn’t overcome the deficit.
With this victory, the Thunder become the first team to advance to the second round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs. They now await the outcome of the series between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Clippers to determine their next opponent.
